Be realistic - plan for a miracle

Wow... I was overwhelmed with feedback from so many people following my request for information re: 'what works for you' Thank you.

The loudest message was that you are getting  lots out of my blogging and I am very grateful for all the kind comments and support that you sent me. It is nourishing to know that you are sharing the ideas with your teams and that you find my thoughts to be of so much benefit to you personally.

Most of you said that a quarterly newsletter was your preferred option and the blogging requests were fairly evenly slept between one and two weeks. Most of you prefer written words to videos. However, some of you would like a video or visuals sometimes.

Onwards and upwards then! I am inspired to carry on blogging away to my hearts content knowing that you are reading them and getting so much out of them. I am glad the need for the more formal newsletter is less frequent as I prefer the more informal blogging as a way of speaking to you. The next newsletter will be re-launched in September and will bring you news of our new product launches and news of the launch of www.genderiq.tv as well. Exciting times!

I have just competed another Authentic Leadership seminar and it was amazing. What a fantastic group of women - both corporate and entrepreneurs. Most of us have been thought some pretty tough times in the past couple of years and some of us are still. The corporate world is still uncertain and people in some organizations are feeling vulnerable and unsure. We had lots of discussions last week about how to manage feelings of uncertainty against the backdrop of an uncertain world. My key tip now, as ever, is ... the only thing you can ever be certain is you, so build your inner resources, decide what you want out of life and then execute a plan for getting it. With the right vision, correct mental and emotional strategy - nothing is impossible.

Sales of anti-depressants have gone though the roof during this recession. It is much much simpler to find out how to think, feel and act like a winner regardless of external circumstances.

How about this?

Big rocks, social media and white noise

You may have noticed that I haven't blogged for three months …but the likelihood is that you probably didn't and the reason for that is we are all overwhelmed with information which I sometimes liken to white noise. Information is doubling every eighteen months and most of us have become brilliant at scanning/speed-reading/deleting. Our attention span is approximately 4 seconds when we give our attention to something on the internet. If we are not 'caught' immediately we’re off to the next.

Reading habits have changed because of the internet – have you ever tried to read a website with a child and found yourself saying 'slow down, you can't possibly read that fast' ...but they can and they do.

So, I have been pondering all this and especially about the amount of time that social media takes up in my life. I recognize that the pressure to 'keep up' has had some effect on the amount of time I dedicate to the big rocks…in other words, the really important or critical work that is essential to move the business forward. It is a thin line and a constant juggle for all of us to prioritize with so many demands on our time.

I took my own medicine ... coached myself ... disciplined myself and asked 'what is the value in all of the activities that you are involved in when weighted against each other?' If we get behind in taking care of our big rocks – strategy/vision/planning/prevention/sales, can we really justify sending another tweet/writing another newsletter or another blog?

And I am fully energized with this new found freedom and want to ask you ... what do you want? So that I can offer you the best of everything without giving lots of stuff that doesn't make a difference I need your help.

Please take some time to email me with your thoughts on how we can best serve you...

* How often would you like to read the newsletter….monthly or quarterly?
* Shall I blog daily, weekly or monthly?
* Do you understand Twitter? If so, please enlighten me
* What is the best way to bring you free coaching tips?

1. Brief paras?
2. Video clips?
3. By email/text or blog?

Please email me at tracey@eve-olution.net and answer all or some of the above or add whatever comes to mind. Anything will really help to inform the new strategy which must be useful to you first and foremost.

And finally, when was the last time you re-evaluated, took a breath and gave yourself the gift of critical thinking time?

With passion!
